Capital One Platinum Credit Card Review

The Capital One Platinum credit card is for people with average credit who want a great card with MasterCard® benefits.  These benefits include $0 Fraud Liability, 24-hour travel assistance services, 24-hour roadside assistance, extended warranties, auto rental insurance, and more.  The key point we want to drive home about this credit card is that although it says Platinum, it isn't necessarily a card only for people with excellent credit, rather it's a flexible rewards card.

Because of the target audience of the card, the annual fee is only $19 - however, the interest rate is considerably higher than comparable cards for people with higher credit ratings.    Additionally, while there are no balance transfer fees, because of the high APR this isn't an ideal card to transfer a large balance to. In summary, if you're not looking to rebuild your credit, we might recommend a credit card from our Best Rewards Credit Cards page, or if you're looking to manage current debt, we'd recommend a card from our Best Balance Transfer Credit Cards writeup.
