Citi Gold / AAdvantage Visa Signature Card Review

The Citi Gold AAdvantage Visa Signature Card is the perennial flagship card of Citi's partnership with American Airlines.  It is a solid travel credit card - providing AAdvantage miles for every $1 spent in addition to great customer service and benefits - however, compared with many other travel credit cards, we think the bonus system doesn't necessarily stack up.

Ultimately, the 25,000 AAdvantage bonus miles for signup are a great deal and worth a significant amount of money - $250 - towards airline purchases, and comes at a relatively low cost of $750.  In addition to the bonus signup miles, we're big fans of the Concierge Services, Hertz discounts, lost luggage coverage, and a number of other very convenient creature comforts when traveling using the credit card.  Additionally, it's great that accrued miles never expire and that there are programs to leverage fewer miles to get the same results.

This being said, there are a number of cards that will offer more points per dollar spent, like the Chase Sapphire Preferred Credit Card.  Ultimately, if you like flying American Airlines, this card will provide the best comfort and convenience on the market.  If you prefer to vary your airline carrier, it might not be the best choice.
