CitiBusiness / AAdvantage World MasterCard Review

The CitiBusinses AAdvantage World Mastercard is one of Citi's new lines of business travel credit cards.  Although oriented with American Airlines specifically, this credit card affords significant enough benefits that we think it's worth committing all of your business travel to one airline.

The primary card we like to compare against is the Spark Miles for Business credit card from Capital One, which provides significant miles in addition to more flexibility than with the AAdvantage World Mastercard.  That being said, there are a number of categories in which the Citi AAdvantage World Mastercard wins - it has significant signup benefits ($1,000 in credit just for spending $1,000 on the credit card in the first three months) in addition to a 5% bonus on mileage when renewing your annual card membership.  It also has some creature comfort benefits that really make a difference like priority boarding and a free first checked bag.  All of this amongst the great customer support one has come to expect from CitiBusiness, including emergency assistance and insurance, as well as quarterly and annual account summaries.

In the end, it comes down to preference.  If you enjoy flying on American Airlines, this card provides the same cash back benefits as many of the competitors in addition to great bonus miles and terrific creature comforts.  However, if you'd like the flexibility of being able to book on different carriers this might not be the best card for your business.
