Dividend Platinum Select Visa Review

The Citi Dividend Platinum Select Visa is a hybrid card - it is really a balance transfer credit card with an alright Rewards Program attached.  Cardholders can earn 1% cash back on all purchases, 2% cash back on purchases in selected rotating categories each quarter such as hotels and department stores, and up to 5% cash back on purchases made through Citi's "Bonus Cash Center" which reportedly offers 400+ participating merchants.  While purchases made via the Citi Bonus Center aren't subject to limitations, there is a $300 annual earnings cap on the "Dividend Dollars" offered on this card.  Unfortunately, rewards redemption is somewhat restrictive; rewards can only be redeemed in $50 increments and Citi will not send these out proactively, they must be requested by the card holder.

As we mentioned previously, the Dividend Platinum Select Visa┬« card has an appealing balance transfer option - 0% for the first 12 months with a 4% transfer fee.  Following this introductory period, balance transfer APR is 12.99% - 20.99%, depending on credit worthiness.  This means that this card is a great option for someone who has an outstanding balance that they want to get under control, but at the same time wants to earn rewards by actively using their credit card.  If you are going to transfer a large balance but also use the card for every day purchases, the Citi Dividend Platinum Select Visa is a great option.  Because of the large number of different amenities, we think this is one of the best balance transfer credit cards along with the Discover It credit card.
