Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card Review

The Delta SkyMiles Gold Credit Card from American Express is a rewards card that concentrates on giving you money back when you fly on Delta.  Using this card, you'll earn a substantial number of miles just for signing up - 30,000 after you spend $500 in the first three months.

Overall, this card is a good option if you like all of the customer service benefits that American Express Provides and frequently fly on Delta, but don't have the credit or spend enough to justify the fee of the Platinum Delta Sky Miles credit card.  The main differences (besides the annual fee) will involve the insurance and travel benefits and the number of bonus miles you can accrue of the course of a year.  The Delta SkyMiles Platinum Card offers the opportunity to earn substantially more bonus miles, but you'll also need to spend substantially more on the card.

Ultimately, we think this card is a good option if you regularly fly on Delta and want access to American Express' award winning customer service.  The $95 Annual Fee after the first year isn't too bad if you're regularly booking on Delta and earning the double points, however, if you don't exclusively fly on Delta and are interested in a rewards card, it may be worth reviewing the American Express Blue Travel Card.
