Journey Student Rewards Credit Card Review

The Journey Student Rewards Credit Card is one of the best student credit cards for current students looking to build their credit.  As such, it has a number of great tools for helping cardholders learn how to manage their credit, including monthly access to credit scores (with a cool interactive tracking tool) as well as free text and email alerts.  It's important to understand how to responsibly use credit cards, as your credit rating will affect many parts of the rest of your life, from getting loans to renting apartments.

In addition to the great perks for students to learn how to use credit cards, the card also provides a great rewards program that gives 1% cash back on all purchases.  This cash back doesn't expire, and you can get it back any time or even as an account credit.  The card has pretty steep APR (19.8% variable according to your credit rating) so it's important not to carry a balance month to month.  But there's no annual membership fee, which makes this one of the best first credit cards.

If you're a student looking to build up your credit rating, while also leveraging a solid rewards program, this is the card for you.  If you have average credit but aren't a student, we'd recommend exploring the Capital One Platinum Credit Card.
