Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card Review

The Delta SkyMiles Gold Credit Card from American Express is a rewards card that concentrates on giving you money back when you fly on Delta.  Using this card, you'll earn a substantial number of miles just for signing up - 10,000 MQMs after you spend $25,000 on with the Credit Card and an additional 10,000 Medallion Qualifying Miles when you spend $50,000.  This is Delta's premier American Express credit card, so you gain access number of benefits, including extensive travel insurance, Hertz Gold Membership, guaranteed room reservations, and Baggage insurance.

However, all of these benefits come with a catch - the Delta Platinum Sky Miles card has an annual fee of $150 which is not waived for the first year.  This card really makes sense if you regularly fly on Delta airlines and spend a substantial amount with your credit card - it will give you good mile redemption (2 miles on Delta Purchases) and jump start your becoming a Diamond Medallion member, which affords you the best perks that Delta has to offer.  If you don't plan on spending over $50,000 annually on your card, or you don't regularly fly on Delta, we might recommend another American Express Card like the Blue Cash Rewards or Blue Travel Card.
