Platinum Select / AAdvantage Visa Signature Review

The Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Travel Card is a fantastic travel credit card if you travel frequently and appreciate American Airlines.  There are multiple ways to earn extra miles using the card, for everything from buying plane tickets to just spending cash on a regular basis. You can earn extensive miles in addition to not having a cap on the number of miles you earn each year. There is also a laundry list of great features, like free checked bags, priority boarding, and 25% off of in-flight purchases, in addition to all of the great extra mile incentives.

The only issue we could take with this card is that it charges a $95 annual fee after the first year.  Before using this card it’s worth evaluating how much you fly each year, as this card racks up points fastest for those who will be using it to buy American Airlines tickets and tickets through their services.  The key will be to balance the number of flights you take with the cost of the card - if you're going to be flying enough to accumulate even just 1 free ticket, this card could be worth it!  We would say, however, that if you're not a frequent American Airlines flyer, it might be worth exploring the Capital One Venture credit card or other cards in our travel credit cards  page.
