The Ritz Carlton Rewards card is a luxury card targeting high-end travelers who will be staying at the Ritz Carlton regularly. There is a generous Ritz Carlton oriented Rewards System, including 5 points per $1 spent at The Ritz-Carlton hotels, 2 points per $1 spent on airline tickets purchased directly with the airline, and at car rental agencies and restaurants.
There is no question that the card includes a number of very attractive perks, including upgrades to the Ritz-Carlton Club® Level three times annually, a dedicated concierge and complimentary food and beverage presentations, in addition to a Ritz-Carlton tailored points rewards program and automatic Gold Elite Status (something normally reserved for those who frequent the Ritz). You'll also receive a $100 Hotel Credit for qualifying dining, spa, and hotel recreational activities during every two night stay or longer. You'll be able to maintain a number of these benefits by charging at least $10,000 to your card over the course of a year.
The card also includes many of Chase's top tier travel benefits, including no foreign-transaction fees, travel insurance, access to lounges in airports, and a number of other benefits you can review here if you're interested. This does come at a steep price - the annual fee for the Ritz Carlton card is $395. However, if you are a frequent luxury traveler, and you expect to be staying at the Ritz, this card certainly makes your life easier. At the same time, there are a large number of wider reaching rewards credit cards that provide a wider array of incentives. We're of the opinion that the value you gain from this card, from the lounges and then from the point system for travel, really only makes sense if you love the Ritz Carlton. If you do, the Ritz Carlton Rewards card is a no-brainer.
